The word „onion” comes from the Latin word „unio”, which means „unity” or „oneness”. By layered structure, onion is seen as a metaphor for discovering many aspects of finding the truth. This vegetable is also related to the symbolism, mythology, and magic of tears. Stopping them while chopping onions only makes the pain worse. Sometimes the same act during sadness can make the emotional situation worse. Crying is our need. Just as tears help flush out germs from our eyes, they can also help flush out toxins from our hearts, minds, and souls.
